Multiple effects for a given source?

Hello.

I've been reading the EFX guide and can't tell whether or not it's
possible to apply multiple effects to a given source (as if the effects
were connected in series). I want to apply distortion AND
bandpass filtering AND reverb (in that order). It seems as though
I can add a direct filter and then either a reverb or a distortion
effect on an effect slot, but not both.

I don't think there's a way to apply effect slots in series. You can
apply a filter either directly to a source, or to the effects send
signal going to an effect slot. Then you can apply an effect, and from
there the signal goes to the final mix. I don't think there's any way
to feed the signal from an effect slot to another effect slot.
